2026 CNS Medical Student Session—Call for Session Proposals

The CNS is seeking session proposals for the 2026 CNS Annual Meeting to be held October 31- November 4, 2026, in Washington, D.C.

Priority will be given to sessions that fit the following criteria:

• Facilitate the acquisition of practical knowledge, skills, and experience by attendees
• Explore barriers for diverse applicants to seek a career in neurosurgery
• Provide balanced content that medical students need at any point during their training
• Include a variety of presentation and learning formats to enhance educational engagement and address different learning styles

Submission Criteria

• Each institution/organization can submit a proposal for a maximum of three (3) sessions.
• If more sessions are submitted, the 1st three will be considered

Submission Process

• Submission is only possible via this electronic form.
• Please identify your institution/medical school
• Assign at least one chairperson from your medical school who is a medical student
• Assign at least one neurosurgery resident or faculty mentor
• Please ensure age, race, ethnicity, gender, geographical, and organizational representation, and balance in the faculty proposed

Proposal should include:

• Topic
• 1-3 learning objectives (use Bloom's taxonomy)
• Short description (Why is this topic important? What knowledge gap does this session address?  Max 150 words)
• Chairperson (Medical students) – to plan and organize the session; a speaking spot is not automatic
• Moderators (one medical student, one faculty or resident mentor)
• Faculty
• Presentation learning format (choose 1):
  • Panel discussion (3 faculty, 1 moderator)
  • Fire site chat (1 faculty, 1 moderator)
  • Presentation with polling
  • Other

Notification of Selected Sessions: June 15, 2026
