October 16, 2019, Schaumburg, Illinois — The Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) is pleased to announce the debut of its latest journal, Neurosurgery Open. The goal of Neurosurgery Open is to provide an outlet for the publication of scientific papers dealing with clinical neurosurgery and experimental neurosurgery, such as case series, case reports, and other information of interest to neurosurgeons. Neurosurgery Open is an online-only, fully Open-Access publication with all content published under the Creative Commons Attribution License CC-BY-NC. Dr. Nelson M. Oyesiku, Editor-in-Chief, NEUROSURGERY® Publications, will lead Neurosurgery Open supported by an editorial board of nine Section Editors representing the major subspecialties of neurosurgery. “Neurosurgery Open broadens and deepens the bandwidth of our suite of publications and will provide the neurosurgical community with an important open access option for transmitting their research,” said Dr. Oyesiku.
"Neurosurgery Open represents another venue for authors to submit their work. Neurosurgery is recognized as one of the most prestigious journals in the neurosurgical literature and Neurosurgery Open will carry the same level of peer review as our flagship journal," said CNS President, Dr. Ganesh Rao.
In addition to Neurosurgery Open, the CNS publishes a collection of world-class publications, covering the latest advances in neurosurgical research and technology, as well as critical information on practice management topics, socioeconomic developments and more.
